Punjab Kings (PBKS) star batter Shashank Singh has shown his batting prowess in the previous season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Thanks to his solid performance in most of the games, he was also retained by the PBKS franchise. PBKS is one of the oldest teams but hasn't won a single trophy yet. While speaking to the media, Shashank Singh revealed that he is paying much attention to his bowling as well.
"I have worked a lot on bowling because my two overs can change the entire team's dynamics. I know my limitations, and I'm aware of my strengths. What are my strengths? I never say I'm a Mitchell Starc or Pat Cummins, but if I bowl my 18 balls in the right areas, I can win matches. When I sit for an interview with you next time during the IPL or after that, you'll definitely talk about my bowling more," said Shashank Singh in an interview.
Shreyas Iyer is leading the PBKS this season, so it will be interesting to watch their performance and see the results. Iyer led KKR to the trophy last year, and that is why the expectations will be high on him for the upcoming season as well.
Shreyas hasn't changed one bit: Shashank Singh
Shashank Singh also spoke about Shreyas Iyer and how grounded he stays as a person even after achieving so much in his life. Iyer not only won the IPL, he also led Mumbai to various trophies in domestic tournaments. He is an asset to the Punjab Kings.
"Shreyas has not changed one bit in all these years. Even after all the things that he has achieved for India in all three formats, he still approaches life the same way. It is a great thing to have someone like him as our captain. He has played all around the globe, scored runs, and won the IPL. So he knows what it takes to take a team all the way. He has spoken to me about my role and how I can contribute more," added Shashank.
