Pakistan's ex-skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed made a bold prediction for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. He was a member of the winning squad in 2017 and would like to see Pakistan defend its title this year. The ICC event returns after a hiatus of eight years. Pakistan is a strong contender for the event since the matches will be in their own home ground.

"Winning this trophy in 2017 was the best day of my cricket career. Although it is eight years ago now, every June when the anniversary comes round, I see videos on social media and it gives me goosebumps. If I had to pick four semi-finalists, I’d probably go for Pakistan, India, Australia and Afghanistan at this stage, but I would not rule anyone out. Of the pool matches, everyone will be talking about Pakistan’s match against India, and the game will be huge," said Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The upcoming tournament will be exciting because only eight teams will participate. Ahmed praised the Pakistan team as they are in full form and are qualified for the finals in the Tri-Series 2025. They chased down 353 runs against South Africa.

Matthew didn't say anything: Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan's ace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi spoke about the on-field fights that happened between him and Matthew Breetzke. This time, the South African batter didn't turn his back and gave any reply to Afridi even after the bowler did his best to tease him throughout the game. Afridi went on to say that after the game, they shook hands and became good friends. Breetzke scored a brilliant half-century in the previous game against Pakistan.

"For the first time, Matthew didn’t say anything. I kept teasing him to get a wicket. Whatever happened on the field stayed there. However, after the match, Matthew and I met, shook hands, and became good friends," said Shaheen Afridi.
