India's former player Sanjay Manjrekar slammed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise for picking up English batters for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. After looking at their performance in the last two games, it was pretty evident that they struggled a lot against spinners and surviving in the IPL would be difficult for them.
"Washi (Washington Sundar) picked up a wicket with his first ball. The bucket (Ben) Duckett has got here seems to have all holes. Four runs in the first match and three in the second. Arshdeep (Singh) dismisses Salt in any case. Salt got out and then Liam got out, and I was reminded of RCB again," said Sanjay Manjrekar in his YouTube video.
Phir Salt, Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell were the players who are in the RCB squad. England were seen struggling in both the games, which was disappointing. India have taken a lead in the series, 2-0 after winning the two consecutive games. Now, they are just a win away from sealing the series. England have to make their middle order batting strong in order to win the upcoming games, or the series.
'What AQI excuse do you give?'
Sanjay Manjrekar bashed Harry Brook for making the air quality as an excuse for getting dismissed in the first T20I game. He analysed his batting and gave clear reasons behind his dismissal in Kolkata.
"What AQI excuse do you give, the England guys should feel ashamed. Harry Brook said after the last match that he couldn't see the ball due to smog. The ball was visible this time but it still hit his stumps. It was a short ball, you played on the front foot and it hit your stumps. You are unable to read the ball from the hand," added Sanjay Manjrekar.
