The Indian cricket team have travelled to Australia to play a 5-match Test series, starting on November 22. The players have also started their practice sessions and are gearing up for the most-anticipated series of the year. The series holds a lot of importance because of its connection to the World Test Championship (WTC) finals qualification. India are in a tough spot, and only winning the series can help them qualify.

Former India cricketer WV Raman has urged BCCI to appoint Sachin Tendulkar as a consultant for the upcoming series, which might benefit the team. Sachin is an experienced player and will have a lot of anecdotes to share with the players.

"I think that #TeamIndia could benefit if they have the services of #Tendulkar as the batting consultant in their prep for the #BGT2025. Enough time between now and the 2nd test. Roping in consultants is rather common these days. Worth a thought?" tweeted WV Raman.

Australia haven't laid their hands on the Border-Gavaskar trophy for a long time now. Thus, they will be desperate to beat India in the upcoming series. Pat Cummins and several other players have warned the Indian team ahead of the series, which is quite concerning for them.

Mohammed Shami makes magnificent comeback in Ranji Trophy

Mohammed Shami claimed four wickets in the ongoing game against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2024. He returned to cricket after a year's gap due to his injury. Shami was wicketless in the game against Madhya Pradesh on the first day but on the second day, as the ball started to swing, Shami bowled some outstanding overs, claiming four wickets.

Shami's current performance might set the base for his return to the BGT series. Even though the squad has already been announced by the BCCI, Shami's four wickets were like sending a soft signal to the selectors that he's perfectly fit and is awaiting a green signal from the Board to return back to the national team.
