India and New Zealand will be facing each other in the finals of Champions Trophy on Sunday in Dubai. While India reached the finale by beating Australia, New Zealand beat South Africa in the semi-finals. David Miller said that he is supporting New Zealand in the finals while also voicing his displeasure about traveling between Lahore and Dubai.

David Miller’s unbeaten 100 went in vain as the Kiwis won the game by 50 runs. Speaking to the media at the end of the game, Miller said, “It's only an hour-and-40-minute flight, but the fact that we had to do that wasn’t ideal” it is to be noted that South Africa and Australia had to travel to Dubai as India played on New Zealand in the final group match of Champions Trophy.

Since India finished top of Group A they faced Australia in the first semi-finals as the Aussies had finished second in their group. South Africa had to head back to Lahore and play New Zealand in the second semi-final match on Wednesday. The travel plans didn’t sit down well with Miller.

Further speaking to the media, Miller was asked to name his pick to win the title. The left-handed batter said “I'll be honest with you. I think I'll be supporting New Zealand”. South Africa had lost to India in the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2024 with Suryakumar Yadav taking a splendid catch to dismiss Miller in the final over of the game.

The left-handed batter speaking about the scheduling and traveling had this to say “It's early morning, it's after a game, and we had to fly. Then we got to Dubai at 4pm. And at 7.30 in the morning we had to come back. It doesn't make it nice. It's not like we flew five hours, and we had enough time to recover and recuperate. But it was not an ideal situation still,"

Speaking about the game on Wednesday, Miller remarked “There were really good contributions, a couple of fifties up front. We had a really good foundation. Unfortunately, in the middle, we lost a couple of wickets too many. At the end of the day, it's a team effort”

South Africa’s veteran batter also added, “Everyone's trying out there to do their best. It would have been nice to have a rematch against India. But life is not fair sometimes. Anyone has to work really hard to achieve trophies.”
