'I think he should continue to lead the series' - Former India player heaps praises on Jasprit Bumrah and his captaincy skills in 1st Test match vs AUS

Jasprit Bumrah has impressed the fans and the cricket experts with his performance in the first Test match against Australia. Bumrah is the stand-in captain of the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma who missed the first game due to personal reasons. The fast bowler has done an amazing job in handling the team as well as focusing on his own bowling. The player claimed a fifer on the second day of the game.

Speaking about his captaincy, former India cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath revealed that he wants Bumrah to continue as the captain for the entire series. Bumrah has managed the team really well, pushed the players and was successful in setting up the field for every bowler. 

"I think Jasprit Bumrah should continue to lead the series. I want a captain who can lead from the front and he is probably the best bowler in the world right now," said Subramaniam Badrinath on Star Sports. 

India have taken a lead of 125 runs in the second innings with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal batting on 32 and 32 runs, respectively. They haven't lost a single wicket yet which is a good thing and a score of 250-300 would be enough to beat Australia. 

Kohli ke baad next ayega Bumrah: Ravi Shastri

Former head coach Ravi Shastri also gave his statement in Jasprit Bumrah's favor saying he will be the next big thing after Virat Kohli in the cricket world. Bumrah leads from the front and being a good bowler gives him the confidence to encourage everyone else as well. 

"Chad ke khele hain Australia ke saamne. Unke aankh mein dekh kar perform kar saken to aapko respect milega. Aur dekhna abhi Kohli ke baad next ayega Bumrah, jidhar bhi jao Bumrah. Wo ayega kyunki world class fast bowler hai," said Ravi Shastri on Star Sports.
