The veteran former India player as quoted by Sportskeeda said, “There were so many wrong things happening in my family. It all affected me. Whenever I go sleep at night, those things still haunt me. I always wanted to go to mountains, become a Fakir and become so close to God that I forget about the world. I left all my friends. I left all my relatives. I bought my own separate house in jungle. I live in the jungle."

In his chat with Kohli, the former India player recounted how came up with the name for his son, “He did not want to play. He was so pampered by grandmother that whatever he said, she would make that happen. That's why he was like a Prince and we named him Yuvraj. I told grandmother, 'Should I name him Yuvraj? You have spoilt him so much.”

Yograj Singh praises his son for developing Abhishek Sharma

India’s latest batting sensation Abhishek Sharma has been under the tutelage of former India great Yuvraj Singh. The 24-year-old has been in great form with the bat and got his national call-up after an amazing time in IPL 2024. Abhishek Sharma has already hit two T20I centuries for India.

Speaking to Taruwar Kohli on the latter YouTube channel, Yograj said, “When Abhishek performed well, I told Yuvi, 'I'm very proud of you son. You have given another Yuvi to the world cricket fraternity.' He replied, 'Like father, like son.' He said, 'Dad, what you gave it to me, I gave it to him, and I will give it to many players. Don't you worry about that.'"

When asked his equation with his son, Yograj Singh said, “He always asks, 'Doctor ko dikhana hai?' 'Psychiatrist ko dikhana hai?'. Why can't you forget? Let's move on. I said I am not Yuvraj Singh.” In the past Yograj Singh had lauded Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their role in India’s Champions Trophy title win in various interviews.
