Sam Konstas made his debut for Australia in the fourth Test match against India during the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and gained overnight fame after showcasing unorthodox shots against Jasprit Bumrah and engaging in a heated exchange with Virat Kohli. His Instagram followers skyrocketed to 200k following these incidents.

Speaking to *Willow Talk* about the matter, all-rounder Beau Webster sarcastically referred to Konstas as an "overnight sensation." He also noted, with a touch of humour, that his own social media following had not seen a similar surge even after hitting the winning shot in the fifth Test.

"I didn't see a spike in mine even after hitting the winning shot at SCG. Certainly don't have 200,000. I think the reverse ramping on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test and the confrontation with Virat were the two catalysts that shot him up 200k. But no, the Instagram following certainly increased but not to that scale. He's an overnight sensation," said Beau Webster.

Webster was a valuable inclusion for Australia in the final game as he showed an all-round performance. He scored 39 runs off 34 balls, hitting the winning runs for the Aussies. In the first innings, he scored 57 runs off 105 balls. He provided the much-needed runs in the first innings while Australia were struggling.

It was like a fairytale: Beau Webster

Australia's all-rounder, Beau Webster expressed how he felt after winning the game against India at the SCG. It was a brief description of the thought process that was involved in hitting the winning runs for Australia.

"It was like a fairytale. We needed 8 to win and I managed to backfoot punch for a four and then there were two balls left and I thought I don't think I am ever going to get another chance here to win a game with a boundary for the country in a fifth and deciding Test, so I run down the wicket, initially I was trying to hit it for a six and it actually dropped a little bit on me shorter, but still managed to get a good piece of it through mid-off," added Webster.
