The young Indian side registered the first win of the ongoing 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in the second match of the series by a huge margin of 100 runs. The visitors suffered an embarrassing loss in the low-scoring first match by 13 runs, courtesy of a brilliant bowling and fielding display by the Zimbabwean side.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma, who smashed his maiden T20I century in the 2nd match of the series, revealed that he and the skipper of the squad Shubman Gill have been playing together since they were 11-12 years old. He revealed that Shubman was the first one to call him after his selection. Abhishek also revealed that he played with Shubman’s bat in the 2nd match which helped him to smash the century.
"It has been quite beautiful, starting as kids of 11-12 years. Yeah, we are playing together from Under-12. When I was selected for the country, the first call I received was from Shubman. Today, I played with his bat, so special thanks to the bat. It happened from the under- 12 days, as whenever I play a pressure game I ask him for a bat. It had happened in the IPL as well. Today was no exception as it went well as it usually happens," Abhishek was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

I don’t consider myself as sixer-king: Abhishek Sharma
Former legendary Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is often seen praising Abhishek for his multiple great knocks. Abhishek also reckons Yuvraj as his mentor and credits him most of the time after his knocks. Abhishek registered a golden duck in his debut match while trying to hit the first ball to six. He tried the same in the 2nd match but this time he was successful in sending the ball out of the park and registered a magnificent six in the very first ball of his inning.
Yuvi paaji has made a big contribution. I don’t consider myself as sixer-king or something like that. Special thanks to my dad for allowing me to play lofted shots.” Abhishek said.
