India and Australia: (X)
The Champions Trophy 2025 will return after a gap of eight years, with eight teams participating in the tournament. This time, the tournament will be held in Pakistan, but the venues of the knockouts will be decided based on India's qualification status.
The Champions Trophy is also known as a 'mini World Cup' because it's organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Despite not being scheduled at a particular time, the tournament has gained a lot of attraction from the audience because of the participation of their countries.
The ODI World Cups are held every four years among 10-14 countries. Both the tournaments are 50-over games, but the WC started way earlier than the Champions Trophy. The number of teams who participate in the Champions Trophy is eight.

How are the teams selected for the Champions Trophy and ODI World Cup?
The team selection for the Champions Trophy tournament is done on the basis of the performance shown in the ODI World Cup. The top eight teams from the tournament qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025. On the other hand, the top 10 teams in the ICC ODI rankings qualify for the ODI World Cup.
Since only eight teams participate in the Champions Trophy, the chances of upsets are really less. For the upcoming tournament, the eight teams are Pakistan, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, and England.
Champions Trophy and ODI World Cup Format
The Champions Trophy has a classical structure: it comprises four teams separated into two groups. The top two performers from each group will be qualified for the semi-finals. Two teams that manage to win will directly qualify for the finals, where they will fight for the trophy. However, in the ODI World Cup, teams play against each other once, and the top four teams advance to the semi-finals.
