Harshit Rana's performance in the second Test match against Australia wasn't the best despite taking four wickets in the warm-up game against the Prime Minister's XI. This created a lot of controversy regarding his inclusion in the team, even though he is a newcomer.

At Adelaide Oval, the ball had a lot of moments in terms of swing, but he struggled a lot. Batters found him take an extremely easy to hit during the innings. Former India captain Kapil Dev was also asked about Rana's inclusion in the team, and he said that he is no one to judge.

"I am a nobody. How can I judge? There are people up there who have the responsibility to decide who should be in the team. We shouldn't talk. My former colleagues are sitting there, and I hope they will do a good job," said Kapil Dev during the launch of the Vishwa Samudra Open.

Rana bowled for 16 overs, conceded 86 runs, and didn't get any wickets. Apart from him, all the other bowlers got at least one wicket. However, the management will ultimately decide whether to include or exclude him in the upcoming games.

He doesn't have to prove himself: Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev also spoke about Rohit Sharma and his performance in the second game against Australia, where he scored three and six runs in both innings. As per Kapil, judging Rohit based on just one game or just one series would be wrong. He is a great player and has proved his worth, and there is no point in criticizing him for his failed performance now.

"He doesn't have to prove himself. He has done this for many, many years, so let's not doubt somebody. I won't doubt him. I hope his form comes back, that's important. With one or two performances, if you doubt someone's captaincy, I mean, just six months back when he won the T20 World Cup, you wouldn't have asked me this question. Let it go, knowing his ability and talent, he will come back. They will come back strongly," said Kapil Dev.
