Virat Kohli is a generational talent in India, and there are no arguments about it. At 36 years of age, the player scored 81 centuries in international cricket and has the potential to get to 100 centuries. However, things haven't been going his way for the past few years, and that has been troubling him, which is pretty evident in every series he plays in.
Currently, in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, Kohli scored a century in the first Test match but was a failure in the second Test. There are some technical errors in his batting style, and after the Adelaide Test match, he went straight to the nets and started practicing. Talking about his net sessions on Star Sports, former player Harbhajan Singh gave an update on his batting and what all changes he's trying to make.
"Specifically, I have noticed today. He was playing a lot of deliveries on the backfoot. He was going forward for the fuller ball but those balls which were slightly shorter than the length of full ball, he was either leaving or trying to play them. The ball from the back foot, he knows that Gabba will be a different wicket where he will get to face a lot of bounce and pace and that back foot game needs to be included in his game. Good to see him working on the game. I am sure, knowing Virat Kohli, we have seen him making a comeback after every setback," said Harbhajan Singh.
By going out in the nets today, he shows his dedication: Sunil Gavaskar
Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar spoke about Virat Kohli's dedication to the game as he hit the nets after the end of the second Test match against Australia. The player failed to perform in one of his favorite stadiums, which might have hurt him. Hence, he went to practice right after the game.
While speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar heaps praise on Kohli for putting in extra efforts in the field. He said, "By going out in the nets today, he shows his dedication. But that is what I would like to see from everybody else. He's not scored runs. He is very proud of what he achieves and does for India, and because he's not scored runs in this game, he's out in the nets."
