Australian leg-spinner left the fans and commentator in splits with his latest haircut. The 32-year-old could be seen sporting a blond look while he came to bowl during the second T20I match against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. The moment Zampa came out with his new hairstyle social media went into overdrive.

Australia scored 147/9 from their 20 overs as Haris Rauf picked 4/22 from his 4 overs. Matthew Short was the best batter for his side with 32 runs. It was the home team who won the toss and chose bat first. Abbas Afridi picked 3 wickets while Sufiyan Muqeem picked 2 wickets.

In reply, Pakistan were struggling at 106/6 in the 16th over still needing 42 runs to win. Usman Khan waged a lone battle with 52 runs from 38 balls. The visitors failed to get going with the bat as they hadn’t scored a boundary for the first 9 overs. Adam Zampa ended his night with figures of 2/19 from his 4 overs as the home team were on the verge of a huge win.

Matthew Hayden throws weight behind Nathan McSweeney

Former Australian opening batter Matthew Hayden has endorsed Nathan McSweeney for the role of opener. The 25-year-old was given his maiden call-up to the team after impressing selectors with the bat during the Sheffield Shield and matches against India A recently.

Matthew Hayden while speaking to the leading newspaper Sydney Morning Herald said, “Time will tell. That’s the political answer. From a former opening batsman’s point of view, I’d like to just confirm that he’s a good choice."

The former Aussie star also said, “It doesn’t really matter where you start. What really matters is you’ve got the character and the qualities that are required to play Test match cricket for Australia. I don’t personally know Nathan, but it’s been confirmed by George Bailey that he is a special talent and has been groomed for potential leadership roles.

Matthew Hayden also said, “The first 20-odd Test matches that I’d played, I think I was averaging 30. The first seven or so Test matches, I was averaging 20. On debut, I got 15 and five. Sir Donald Bradman got 18 and one on debut. Steve Waugh made 13 and five."

“It’s crazy to think that it’s just going to be sunshine. I can assure you one thing, it’s mostly hailing in Test cricket, and in particular at the top. I just think that the Australian public should understand that this is going to be a really challenging summer of cricket," Further added Matthew Hayden.

During his chat, Hayden spoke about India’s series loss to New Zealand and said, “It’s probably the kick up the arse that India need. Even though India copped a drubbing in that series and were lightweight in terms of their own performance the fact that they’ve played long format cricket is an advantage from a preparation point of view."
