Former Australia cricketer Michael Clarke was all in praise for Marnus Labuschagne, who is a brilliant batter. The player hasn't scored any century yet but has performed well in the two games. Clarke is pretty impressed with the player and is hoping to see him convert his half-centuries into something big in the upcoming games.

"I thought that the way he found a way to get through that first night was exceptional. I don't think India got their line and length right, like they did in Perth. They were a fraction short and a fraction wide. But Marnus deserves a lot of credit. So does McSweeney. I think the way they let the ball go, they held their line in defence," said Clarke on ESPN's Around the Wicket show.

Australia will take on India in the third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 on December 14 in Brisbane. The game is an extremely important one for both teams, and they would like to win it at any cost. The World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 finals are in June, and South Africa have a strong chance of qualifying. So the ultimate competition will be between India and Australia.

Don't be surprised if he walks out in Brisbane and makes a big and important hundred: Michael Clarke

Michael Clarke has placed his confidence in Marnus Labuschagne that he will score a century in the upcoming game. He is an incredible player, and it would not be difficult for him to convert his scores. The next game will be a crucial one, and hence, it is important for all the players to come together and score runs for the team.

"He has not scored as many runs as he would like, so it's never going to look perfect first up. I think generally, as a batter, if you can scratch yourself to a half-century or a sixty or a seventy, you take that. Because then the next inning is the one where you start to feel a bit more confident; more balls are hitting the middle of the bat. So, don't be surprised if he walks out in Brisbane and makes a big and important hundred," added Clarke.
