India's young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy expressed his love for animes during an interview with Arjun Pandit. The player will feature in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Reddy spoke about SRH teammate Abhishek Sharma and how he calls 'Animes' Cartoons while talking to the player.
"Watching Anime is one of my favourite things. I have some (clothes). I have some action figures with me. Not yet, Abhishek Sharma I tried. He actually still calls it cartoons, so I do not like when someone calls it cartoons. He'll come and say that Anime is a cartoon. Before going to a match, I watch certain reels that I saved and watch them. He sits behind me and says 'Kya cartoon dekh rahe ho match ke pehle? (Which cartoon are you watching before the match?)'. I tried telling him to watch that but he doesn't," said Nitish Kumar Reddy.
SRH will play their first game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 22 in Hyderabad. It will be a power-packed match since we all have seen SRH's performance in the previous season.
I really wanted his shoes: Nitish Kumar Reddy
Nitish Kumar Reddy revealed that he worse Virat Kohli's shoes in the game when he scored a century. It was an amazing coincidence that Kohli lent his shoes to the youngster, and their sizes were similar. Reddy's performance in Australia was stunning and he will remember it for a long time.
"Back in the locker room, he (Kohli) once asked Sarfaraz (Khan), ‘Sarfu, tera size kya hai?’ (Sarfaraz, what’s your shoe size?), and he said, ‘Nine.’ Then he turned to me, and I thought, ‘Oh my god, I have to guess this correctly,’ because even if they weren’t my size, I really wanted his shoes. I said, ‘10,’ and he gave them to me. In the next match, I wore those shoes and scored a hundred!" added Nitish Reddy.
