Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya took to social media and posted a heartfelt message for his older brother. Hardik posted a picture of Krunal and wrote ‘In tears right now, proud of you bhai”. The 32-year-old also posted a heart emoji along with an evil eye emoji in the same post.

34-year-old Krunal Pandya played 15 games and scored 109 runs with the bat. His best of 73 not out helped RCB beat Delhi Capitals earlier in the season. This was also Pandya’s second-ever IPL fifty, which came after a decade. With the ball, the left-arm spinner took 17 wickets, with his 4/45 coming against the Mumbai Indians.

Speaking at the end of the game, the 34-year-old said, “When I joined RCB, I told them that I love winning trophies. After three and a half months, glad that I was able to fulfil what I said on Day 1. I literally manifested it. It has been pretty good. 10 years, 4 IPL trophies. I told Hardik on the phone that in the Pandya household, there will be nine trophies in 11 years."

In the final, Pandya got two key wickets from his four overs for just 17 runs. The left-arm spinner first got the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh and then removed the dangerous Josh Inglis. With the bat, Pandya scored four runs from five balls before he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

When asked about the wicket, Krunal said, “When we batted, we realised the slower you bowl the better it is. In this format, you need guts to do it. I just backed myself, thought I'll vary my pace and keep it on the slower side more often. My biggest strength has been to learn what the situation requires. I knew I had to be brave to get wickets tonight. Thought I'd do that by bowling slow. If you'd have bowled quick, it'd have been a good wicket. But if you mixed it up it was tougher. Pitch actually got easier in the second innings.”
