Shubman Gill became Gujarat Titans' captain in the IPL 2024 and started a new era for the 2022 champions. The star player took over the leadership of the Indian team in Tests and ODIs in 2025, as he replaced Rohit Sharma in the role. Gujarat Titans' Director and Chairman spoke about Gill's leadership since then by praising it.
After the IPL Auction 2026, Jinal and Shaan Mehta opened up on Gill's leadership. The duo noted that it was recognized by the management very early in his career. They confirmed that Shubman will continue to be GT's skipper for the next few years. Jinal and Shaan Mehta felt Gill has done a good job as a skipper for India and the Titans.

"I think GT spotted the Shubham Gill's leadership capabilities early on - the team bonding that has happened over the last few years - Shubman continues to lead us going forward many years to come - I think he has done wonderfully well for GT and India," GT's Director and Chairman claimed.

Jinal opened up on having the Narendra Modi Stadium as GT's home and felt that the atmosphere is always electrifying. He claimed that one could not have asked for a better venue to be home than the world's biggest cricket stadium.

"We are very lucky to have the world's largest stadium as our home. The atmosphere at the stadium is electrifying whenever the Gujarat Titans are playing. That really builds the right setting for our players to perform, and I think we couldn't have had a better home than the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad," Mehta added.
