In the same line of events, former Indian chief selector MSK Prasad has also come up with a shocking statement about Nitish Kumar Reddy’s inclusion in the Indian Test team, alongside mentioning the role of India head coach Gautam Gambhir.
“Gautam Gambhir was adamant about taking Nitish Reddy despite the resistance of selectors to Australia, credit for his success should also go to GG,” said MSK Prasad on Star Sports.

Notably, Reddy’s century came for India when their top batters failed to deliver against the Aussie bowling attack. The 21-year-old scored unbeaten 105 runs, with 10 fours and a six at the end of third day’s play in the ongoing Boxing Day Test.
Besides that, the Hyderabad youngster also stitched a decisive and relieving partnership of 127 for the eighth wicket to rescue India from a miserable position in the match.
Speaking of the action of the game, India had scored 358 runs for the loss of eight wickets at the time of stumps on the third day of the game. Centurion Nitish Kumar Reddy and number 11 batter Mohammed Siraj went unbeaten to the pavilion. The tourists are still 116 runs behind Australia’s first-innings score of 474 runs.
