Former India Test batsman Gautam Gambhir, the only candidate for the Indian men's team coach, will be interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) over a Zoom call on Tuesday.
The term of current India coach Rahul Dravid ends after the ongoing T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.
The BCCI invited applications for the head coach post in mid-May, with a deadline of May 27.
The CAC includes former cricketers Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Naik.
The CAC will also interview candidates to replace selector Salil Ankola, likely choosing someone from the North Zone.
The CAC will make recommendations to the BCCI, which will then make an official announcement.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed that no former Australian player had been approached for the India coach job, countering media reports.
The new head coach must handle the pressures of working with marquee athletes and develop a world-class team delivering sustained success across all conditions and formats.
