In a recent podcast, Mohammed Shami was seen criticizing the Pakistan team and the selection committee over the wrong choice of players in the T20 World Cup 2024. Moreover, this outrage came after specific comments from Pakistan media on the lives of Indian cricketers. Hence, Shami went on to say, 'Do one thing, make it a family team if you want to run the team based on personal relations.'

The comments made by Mohammed Shami didn't sit well with former player Salman Butt and he showed questioned the pacer's thoughts and speech.

"Pakistan should not pick teams based on relations and friendships. Mohammed Shami's comments were targeted towards Inzamam-ul-Haq. He targeted Inzamam by speaking about Pakistan picking their team based on personal relations, and I think this is wrong. This is wrong because if you look at Imam's record, he came into the Pakistan team on the basis of his performance. He was also dropped when he failed. Shami's remarks were below the belt and he shouldn't have said such things," said Salman Butt on his YouTube channel.

Shami slammed selector Inzamam-ul-Haq over the selections made during the World Cup and also for his accusations of 'ball tampering' by India in the match against Australia. Pakistan players have a habit of questioning each move of Indian players but cannot take any comment on them. This is the reason why they get involved in most of the controversies around the game.

Virat Kohli to play ODI series against Sri Lanka

After BCCI announced the ODI and T20I squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka series, fans were quite disappointed with the inclusion and exclusion of certain players. However, the only thing that gave the entire nation happiness was Virat Kohli's comeback in the ODI series.

It was Gautam Gambhir who encouraged Kohli to play the upcoming ODI series, to which the right-handed batter agreed. Apart from this, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the ODI team. Hence, the world will get to see 'Ro-Ko' playing together once again.
