Former cricketer Jacob Oram joins New Zealand coaching staff as bowling coach

Jacob Oram's job will start from the series against India, where New Zealand will be travelling in October to play both white ball and red-ball cricket.

The New Zealand coaching staff welcomes their new bowling coach, Jacob Oram, before the upcoming series. Oram joined full-time and is replacing Shane Jurgensen, whose tenure will end on October 7. Hence, Oram's job will start from the series against India, where New Zealand will be travelling in October to play both white ball and red-ball cricket.

Oram isn't a new face in the New Zealand camp. He played more than 200 international matches, three ICC Men's Cricket World Cups, and four ICC Men's T20 World Cups. He was a brilliant player and will be looking forward to sharing his tips and tricks with the Kiwi team. Moreover, he was the bowling coach of New Zealand during the T20 World Cup 2024 and was with the women's team as well for a brief period of time. 

He has gotten quite a lot of experience in the coaching sector, which will help him in the future. New Zealand will be playing three Tests against India and a home series against England. All the series come under the WTC cycle and are extremely important. Hence, Oram has quite a lot of tasks lined up after his joining.

The new bowling coach, Jacob Oram, is extremely elated about his new role and is looking forward to guiding the players in the future. He spoke about the players and the kind of experience and knowledge they have about the game. Oram was an extraordinary player of his time, and having him around is positive news for the players. 

"The recent opportunities I’ve had have been a great insight into where this team is going and I’m excited to continue that work in the coming seasons. There’s a fresh new wave of talent coming through in the Black Caps bowling ranks and I hope that I can share my knowledge and experience to help best prepare them for the challenges of international cricket," said Jacob Oram.
