Team India beat Sri Lanka by 82 runs to win their 2nd game of the Women’s T20 World Cup on Wednesday. The win also ensured that India went to the 2nd place in the table in Group A with four points from 3 matches. After the early loss to New Zealand, the Women in Blue bounced back to beat Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The huge win over the Lankans meant that India now has bettered their run-rate to +0.576. India now has just one game left against Australia and it is a huge encounter for India.

Pakistan and New Zealand have two matches left in the Group A phase of the tournament. Sri Lanka and Scotland have become the first two teams to be eliminated from the tournament. With the tournament now entering its busiest phase, the race of semi-finals is heating up.

How can India make it to the Semi-Finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup?

India knows that they have to beat Australia in order to make it to the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team will also hope that both Pakistan and New Zealand lose one of their two final games of the tournament.

Pakistan will take on Australia on Friday before playing New Zealand in their final game on Monday. The White Ferns, on the other hand, will take on Sri Lanka in the afternoon game on Saturday in Sharjah. India will hope that the Lankan side can do them a favour and beat the Kiwis in their game on Saturday.

Team India will also look at improving their run rate and hope to not only beat Australia but also do it with a huge margin. If India wins by a small margin, the Kiwis will have to win their next two matches with a cumulative 38-run margin.

In case India loses to Australia, they have to make sure that they don’t lose by a huge margin. One huge loss will hurt India’s run rate and the women in blue will also have to hope that both Pakistan and New Zealand lose at least 1 match in the tournament.
