England shared the news that fast bowler Josh Tongue faced a pectoral injury and will be out for an extended period which is a big blow to them. Tongue was considered one of the front-runners to succeed James Anderson, who is retiring from Test cricket after the first Test against the West Indies. Moreover, Tongue has been really good since his debut even though he hasn't played at any level since August of last year.

"Josh (Tongue) has had a setback to his original injury (pectoral injury). There is no timescale on when he'll return to action." said an ECB spokesperson.

After making two impressive outings in Test matches last year, Tongue has been dealing with a pectoral injury. As a result, he was ruled out of England's white-ball tour of the Caribbean and the ICC World Test Championship series in India at the beginning of this year. Moreover, because of his injury, it's not sure when he can make a comeback to red-ball cricket.
