ENG vs IND 1st Test
The new World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle starts for both England (ENG) and India (IND) with a five-match Test series. This first match will take place at Leeds' Headingley Stadium. In the longest format, Shubman Gill will captain India for the first time. Particularly with the retirements of Ravi Ashwin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, India will have a lot to prove.
Ben Stokes will lead England, who will rely on their potent batting lineup and a somewhat inexperienced bowling outfit. After a run of thrilling cricket, Stokes will be looking for more consistent results. India would like to resolve the unresolved issue from 2022, when the team under Rohit failed to complete the series in the fifth and final Test.
With new energy, England enters the next World Test Championship cycle. Though they had their moments in the previous one, the team's overall performance fell short of their expectations. With a batting order that appears poised to dominate, the club appears confident in its first home series.
Meanwhile, Jofra Archer is not available for the first big Test match. England has bought Chris Woakes, who adds value in batting and bowling.
This time, Team India have a different appearance, and there is some doubt about how they would choose the batting order and select the best combination of players for the situation. The group has a lot of potential.
After a strong stay in County, Karun Nair is back and can lead the club through the middle overs. This team is strengthened by the bowling unit.

It is anticipated that the surface at Headingley would generate movement and swing. In this game, we may see that the Duke balls swing more. It will create difficult circumstances for the batters. However, with some rain expected over the next two days, the side batting first has a decent possibility of getting an advantage.
