Indian cricketer and UP Warriorz skipper Deepti Sharma has accused Arushi Goel of various counts, according to a report by Times of India. Deepti has played for Delhi in domestic cricket and UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Goel is a 27-year-old batter and medium pace bowler and was Deepti Sharma’s teammate in WPL.
According to Times of India, Deepti has accused Arushi of money fraud and theft of various valuables. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sukanya Sharma, was quoted by TOI as saying, “Deepti's brother, Sumit Sharma, approached the Sadar police station with the complaint. Prima facie, we found some truth in the complaint and filed an FIR under BNS sections 305(a) (theft), 331(3) (housebreaking), 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) and 352 (insulting someone with the intent to provoke a breach of peace)."
The report also stated that the two players (Deepti and Arushi) formed a close bond during their time together at UP Warriorz. It was after this association that Arushi and her family began to think the Indian cricketer was allegedly facing ‘exploitation’ monetarily.
