Former Australian cricketer David Warner is set to make his Telegu Movie debut with noted actors Nithin and Sree Leela. Warner, has a huge fan following in Hyderabad thanks to his association with the home franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). It was under Warner that SRH went onto win the title for the first time under the current avatar in 2016.

Warner, is making a cameo appearance in the movie and has been making various appearances promoting the movie. Fans have been going crazy during many events as Warner has pulled off his patented moves from the movie ‘Pushpa’. The former Australian star has on many occasions taken to social media and put up various videos of himself and his family members performing to Telegu numbers.
Noted actor Allu Arjun who is the hero of Pushpa has always spoken highly of the veteran batter. The noted Pushpa star had put up a story on his Instagram account with a picture of Warner and wrote, “Many happy returns of the day to my brother.” The picture had the Aussie star doing one of the iconic poses of Allu Arjun from the same movie.
David Warner set to lead Karachi Kings in PSL 2025
On the cricketing front, David Warner is set to make his Pakistan Super League bow. The 38-year-old will be leading Karachi Kings in the coming season. The first game of the season will be played on 11th April with Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars. Karachi will begin their season at home against Multan Sultans on 12th April.
Meanwhile, Warner’s former side SRH are set to play Lucknow Super Giants in the seventh game of the Indian Premier League on Thursday. Ahead of the game, Warner took to his X account and wrote, “Can Sunrisers put 300 on the board tonight? Will be exciting to watch! AS to score 100 and Head 50 off 20 again”, AS is opener Abhishek Sharma who has been a huge run getter for the SRH side.
Warner and SRH won the title in 2016 and the left-handed batter had a close connection with the fans. During the 2023 ODI World Cup, fans in Hyderabad went crazy for Warner and the former Aussie star reciprocated the love in equal measure. His stint with SRH ended on a sorry note thanks to a fall out which saw Warner being stripped of captaincy and being dropped. The Aussie star famously cried on the sidelines of the game which moved a million fans and created anger in the SRH fanbase against their own side.
