CSK vs MI Dream11 Prediction Photograph: (x)
Cricket fans witness two sides with rich history face each other in their season opening match of IPL 2025. In what is called the ‘El-Clasico’ of Cricket, it is the massive Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians clash on Sunday. Both sides have won the title five-times each and the coming season, the two arch-rivals will want to outdo each other and win the title for the sixth time.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head into the season with all eyes on MS Dhoni in particular. The 43-year-old could be playing his final season as a top flight cricketer. Clash against his old rivals will be the best way to start his farewell tour. CSK went into the 2024 season as the Champions but were knocked out in the final game of the season. Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team will be hungry to start the season on a high with a win over the Men in Blue and Gold.
Mumbai Indians (MI) have plenty of issues plaguing their side ahead of the huge first match against CSK. Skipper Hardik Pandya has been suspended for the match while Jasprit Bumrah is not yet fit to take the field. Last season, MI finished bottom of the table having endured a poor time on the field. Mumbai have welcomed back Trent Boult to the team while former CSK players Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner head back to Chennai. Suryakumar Yadav who is set to lead the side will hope that he help MI win the first match of the season for the first time since 2012.

Chennai hosted nine games last season and saw six matches being won by the team batting second. With the second new ball being introduced for the team batting second, the chance of dew gets negated. Despite this, the team winning the toss will want to bat first as historically the ground has seen 49 wins for the teams who chose to make use of the pitch first. The average score at this venue while batting first is close to 165. Teams could find it difficult to score runs as the game goes with the Chennai pitch known to break and help the spinners.
