Champions Trophy 2025: Who can replace Fakhar Zaman in Pakistan Squad?

Fakhar Zaman Replacement।Pakistan received a huge blow on the first day of the Champions Trophy 2025 when batter Fakhar Zaman left the field due to injury. While Will Young was batting, he drove the ball and Zaman went to take it and passed it to Babar Azam but looked in discomfort. Soon the physio arrived and the batter left with them.

Pakistan's officials announced that Zaman is being examined for a muscular sprain and his condition will be revealed soon. Pakistan Cricket Board will be looking at different prospects who can replace the player in the Champions Trophy squad. 

Here are three players who can replace Fakhar Zaman in Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad:

1.Imam-ul-Haq

Pakistan's batter Imam-ul-Haq is a possible replacement for Fakhar Zaman in the squad. Imam is completely fit and has a high chance of featuring in the Champions Trophy squad ahead of clash against India. Imam is a top order batter and can bat along with Babar Azam. He is a quick scorer and having him around will help the team in the power plays. However, losing Fakhar Zaman is a huge loss for the Pakistan team because he was a brilliant player. 

2. Abdullah Shafique

Another fantastic option for Pakistan would be Abdullah Shafique. He is an outstanding batter who provides balance to the team. While he doesn't have much experience, he still have a good chance of selection due his performance in the previous series. Shafique has played a total of 21 ODIs where he has scored just 612 runs at an average of 32.21

3. Iftikhar Ahmed

Iftikhar Ahmed is a talented batter but is a middle order player. If Zaman is out of the tournament, Pakistan might consider taking Ahmed into the squad to maintain the much-needed balance in the team. He has also played less ODI games but can surely contribute to the team in times of need. Pakistan will go for a flexible player and Ahmed is one of them.
