Pakistan will aim to defend their title in the Champions Trophy; they will be playing under the captaincy of star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. In the last edition of the tournament in 2017, the men in green lifted the title under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed, defeating the arch-rivals India in the tournament’s final.
The hosts are placed in Group A of the Champions Trophy 2025, with the arch-rivals India, alongside Bangladesh and New Zealand as the two other teams in the Group.
Mohammad Rizwan and Co will start their journey in the tournament with their campaign opener against the Blackcaps on February 19 in Karachi. Following their first game against New Zealand, the holders will face the arch-rivals India in their high-octane second clash. The highly-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
In their last league match in the tournament, Pakistan will face their sub-continent rivals Bangladesh on February 27 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Association Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Before taking the field in the Champions Trophy, Pakistan will also host New Zealand and South Africa in the tri-nation ODI series, starting on February 8.
