Champions Trophy 2025: ICC and PCB release official schedule for prestigious cricket quadrennial

After getting all parties agreed on the hybrid model, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have finally announced the schedule for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is set to commence on February 19, 2025, with the inaugural match, in which the hosts Pakistan will be taking on New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi.

As per the recently adapted hybrid model for the prestigious cricket quadrennial, all the games of Team India will be played at the neutral venue/s. It will also include the high-octane league stage clash between the arch-rivals, India and Pakistan on February 23, 2025. The men in blue will be playing three matches in the tournament’s league stage and all of their league matches will be hosted outside Pakistan.

India to play their all games at the neutral venue: 

It has also been understood that if India makes it to the knockout stage of the tournament, the respective knockout games, be it semi-final or final, will be played at a neutral venue. On the other hand, if the men in blue get knocked out of the tournament’s league stage, all the knockout games will be played in Pakistan only.

The holders in Pakistan will be eyeing to defend their title with a second consecutive title win, with a favour of the home conditions. On the other hand, last edition’s runners-up and Champions Trophy 2013 winners, India will aim to end their 12-year-long wait for the Champions Trophy title.

Group A - Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. 

Group B - South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, and England.
