For many years, there have been floating reports that former Pakistani cricket star Shoaib Akhtar threatened to "kidnap" Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre if she declined his proposal of marriage. Now, Sonali has responded to the tales. In a podcast interview, Shubhankar Mishra asked the actor about Shoaib's comment. She has been promoting season two of her most recent show, The Broken News. Shubhankar also told her that earlier in the day, the cricketer had confessed to having a serious crush on her.

"Did he really say that? Though I’m not sure if this is accurate. Even back then, fake news existed! Thank God for that, my career is because of the audience loving me, even though I’m not sure if he really said it,” said Sonali Bendre.

Shoaib stated clearly in 2019 that he has never spoken of Sonali. In a video, Shoaib stated that he wanted to end the rumours "once and for all." The rumours have been going about for a time now. In an interview, the Pakistani pacer said that he was deeply fascinated with Sonali.

Pakistan has yet to declare the T20 World Cup 2024

While Pakistan is busy playing the 3-match T20I series against Ireland in Dublin, the Board is yet to release the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier this month, they had declared the squad for the upcoming series against Ireland and England but haven't declared for the marquee event. Moreover, Pakistan won the series against Ireland, 2-1.

Their next assignment is the series against England which will start on May 22. In England, they'll play a 4-match series before the World Cup which is more of a warm-up match for both the teams. Hence, the main squad for Pakistan is expected to be released after the 1st T20I against England.
