Rohit Sharma-led Indian team won the 1st Test match against Bangladesh by 280 runs. The margin was huge since the target given to the visitors was 515 runs. Credit goes to the young guns of India, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, who stood like walls and slammed two beautiful centuries in the second innings.

After the game, Rohit spoke about the pitch and how it was favouring both spinners and pacers at the same time. He did open up about the red soil pitch and that a lot of patience is required to understand how the pitch functions.

"Beautiful pitch, red soil always offers a lot. You have to be patient. You've gotten used to things happening every ball in India, but it wasn't the case here. We were patient to get the big runs and take wickets. (Ashwin) will come in and talk to you, he's the right man to answer what he does," said Rohit Sharma at the post-match presentation.

The Indian captain praised Ravichandran Ashwin for his valuable contributions to the Test match since he scored a century and also claimed a fifer. Ashwin has proved to be one of the best all-rounders in the team.

Moreover, Ravindra Jadeja played an important part in the Test match. He scored 86 runs in the first innings and missed out on the century by a small margin. Jadeja went on to take five wickets in two innings showing his expertise in bowling.

He's been through some really tough times: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma shares the journey of Rishabh Pant and how the 26-year-old managed to bounce back and make a stunning comeback in Test cricket. Pant's journey has been inspirational in many aspects of life.

Being a wicket-keeper batter, players need to keep their back fit. After the accident, Pant wasn't even able to walk. The young lad has come a long way from being injured to smashing centuries in red-ball cricket.

"He's been through some really tough times. The way he has managed himself through those tough times was superb to watch. He came back in the IPL, followed by a very successful World Cup and this is the format he loves the most. For us, it was never about what is he going to do with the bat, we always knew what he had with the bat and with the gloves as well," added Rohit Sharma.
