The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a hefty prize of Rs 58 crore for the Men in Blue's magnificent win in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which took place in Pakistan and Dubai.
Team India won the title and ended their 12-year-long wait. This cash reward comes in addition to the Rs 20 crore prize money that Rohit Sharma and Co. have already received after winning the prestigious tournament in Dubai.
Notably, if we look at the salaries of the players, they are given according to their grades. A+ grade players are set to have the highest pay, but it's not the same when it comes to prize money after winning the ICC tournament. However, there is no official information about how the Indian Cricket Board will be giving prizes to the players, but it seems they can be paid equally.
“The BCCI is proud to honour the players and support staff with this well-deserved reward. Their dominance in world cricket is a result of years of hard work and strategic execution. This victory has justified India’s top ranking in white-ball cricket, and we are sure the team will continue to excel in the years to come," said BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.
Team India's strong run in Champions Trophy 2025!
Team India commenced their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament after a stellar six-wicket win over Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma and Co. next took down arch-rivals Pakistan with a six-wicket win. The Men in Blue finished the group stage with an unbeaten run after thwarting strong New Zealand by 44 runs.
After that, the Indian cricket team buried the ghosts of the ODI World Cup 2023 final by thwarting Australia out of the marquee event in the semi-final thriller. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and his team thwarted Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand by four wickets to lift the Champions Trophy for the first time since 2013, when they won under MS Dhoni's leadership.
