The second round of Group A games will culminate on Monday with New Zealand taking on Bangladesh. The game is set to be played in Rawalpindi with lots at stake for the two teams. After this, there is just one match remaining for each side in the group. Bangladesh will take on hosts Pakistan, while New Zealand travels to Dubai to face India.

The Kiwis, led by Mitchell Santner, have been in tremendous form so far on their tour of Pakistan. New Zealand has already won the Tri-series title by beating the hosts in the finals. This was soon followed by the win over Mohammad Rizwan’s side in the tournament opener last week by 60 runs in Karachi.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, has been in poor form as far as ODI cricket is concerned. Their top order failed to fire with the bat in the match against India last Thursday. If it wasn’t for Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy, their team wouldn’t have even reached 150. The result ended in a six-wicket win for India, which means Bangladesh has to win the game to stay alive in the tournament.
Here are the top 3 batters to watch out for in BAN vs NZ game
3. Towhid Hridoy
Towhid Hridoy scored a century in the last match vs India
24-year-old Bangladeshi batter Towhid Hridoy was the main reason behind his side scoring 228 in the game versus India. Hridoy had to battle adverse conditions that Dubai had to offer and bat his way through the innings to score his maiden ODI tonne. It was a great knock considering his team was tottering at 35/5 inside nine overs. Going to Rawalpindi will be a huge relief for Bangladeshi players and Hridoy in particular will like the ball coming onto the bat.
2- Will Young
Will Young became the first centurion of CT2025
New Zealand’s opener Will Young opened the century account in the Champions Trophy 2025 with his knock of 107. It was a key knock for his side, having lost Devon Conway and Kane Williamson in quick succession. Young mixed caution with aggression to nullify the early threat posed by the Pakistani bowling unit. The 32-year-old is a good player of seam bowling and is more than comfortable against spin. It will be a key battle between Young and the Bangladeshi bowlers on Monday.
1- Tom Latham
Tom Latham was man of the match in the last game vs Pakistan
Pakistani bowlers had no answer to New Zealand’s most dependable batter, Tom Latham, who scored an unbeaten tonne. The left-handed batter had been in a bad patch of form leading up to the tournament. Latham scored a fifty in the ODI Tri-series final to recoup his lost form. The 32-year-old then put the Pakistani bowlers on the mat with his fine century that helped his team race to a huge score and win the game by 60 runs.
