In the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma because of their streaks of failed performances in the recent series. Former Australian bowler Brett Lee warned Indian skipper Rohit regarding the Aussie bowling attack. While talking on his YouTube channel, Lee mentioned that the bowlers will attack the captain with the new ball, keeping his current form in mind.

"When you have a couple of bad runs back-to-back, that's when the pressure could set in. I guess the thing now is someone like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma just have to go back to the drawing board. Work on that technique, freshen up, get away from cricket as much as they can and then hit the ground running when they go to Australia because I can promise you - these Australian fast bowlers will attack Rohit Sharma with that brand new ball," said Lee on his Youtube Channel.

The series is a direct path to the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 finals, and one defeat will throw the Indian team out of the race. Their pathetic performance against New Zealand is the reason behind this disaster. India have been runners-up twice in the WTC finals, but it looks like the team's struggle for qualification isn't ending this time.

They went into the series thinking that we'll just whitewash the Kiwis: Brett Lee

The former Australia bowler Brett Lee analyzed India's performance against New Zealand in the 3-match Test series and concluded that the hosts didn't take the Kiwis seriously. From their approach, it was pretty evident that they had taken the visitors very lightly, and probably the over-confidence in the players became the reason behind their doom.

"They went into the series thinking that we'll just whitewash the Kiwis, thinking that's going to be an easy series. And that's no disrespect to the Kiwis. It's just that India are so powerful, so strong on home soil. The Kiwis caught India off-guard,” he added.
