Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to take on table toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match number 18 of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. The Royals are coming into the game on the back of their huge win over Chennai Super Kings in the last match. Shreyas Iyer and his side beat Lucknow Super Giants and stormed to the top of the table.
Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal will be the centre of attention as he takes to the field on Saturday. The left-handed batter lavished massive praise on RR coach Rahul Dravid ahead of the game. During his chat with Jio Hotstar, ahead of the game, Jaiswal praised Dravid’s presence in the dugout.
Jaiswal said, “He is supportive, caring, and always looking out for everyone. He instills confidence in players, reassures them they’re on the right path, and offers guidance that's essential for growth—both individually and as a team. He is an incredible human being. Having someone like Rahul Dravid Sir in this era is a privilege.”
The left-handed batter also added, “Watching him up close is a learning experience. His grace, composure, and humility are qualities that truly inspire. There’s so much more to learn from how he conducts himself off the field.” It is to be noted that Jaiswal made his international debut when Rahul Dravid was the national coach.
Yashasvi Jaiswal breaks silence on his move to Goa
Earlier this week, reports came out that Jaiswal had put in a request to change his team’s ahead of the next domestic season. The 23-year-old is set to play for Goa in the coming season and is likely to lead the side.
Speaking to Indian Express after the news was broken, Jaiswal said, “It was a very tough decision for me. Whatever I am today is because of Mumbai. The city has made me who I am, and all my life, I will be indebted to the MCA."
India’s opening batter also added, “Goa has thrown me a new opportunity and it has offered me a leadership role. My first goal will be to do well for India and whenever I'm not on national duty, I will be playing for Goa and try to make them go deep into the tournament. This was an important opportunity which came my way and I just took it."
