Shoaib Akhtar wrote “Afridi was aggravating the situation and I swung the bat at both of them. Afridi ducked, but Asif couldn’t get out of the way, the bat struck him on his thighs and he collapsed. I had lost it. I had never behaved like this, especially in the dressing room”. Shahid Afridi recounted the incident and said “Things happen. According to reports on Friday, Shaheen Afridi and Shan Masood had allegedly got into a fisticuff. It was reported that the players were unhappy with their loss to Bangladesh. There was a video where Shaheen Afridi was seen removing Shan Masood’s hand from his shoulder. There was more fuel to the news when Shaheen Afridi was made to sit out for the 2nd Test of the game. Fortunately all these reports came out to be false as it was fact checked and it turned out that the rumors were started by a parody account on X.
