33 runs in 3 balls! Dasun Shanaka accused of match fixing after bowling four no-balls in an over in Abu Dhabi T10 League

In the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League, Sri Lanka's former captain Dasun Shanaka bowled four no-balls in an over which has sparked controversy. Playing for Bangla Tigers, Shanaka gave away 33 runs in an overs because of the no-balls. Shanaka came in the eighth over and was hit a boundary in the very first ball. After that, he bowled no-balls continuously, which went for boundaries and sixes. In the last three balls, he conceded only three singles. 

Due to this unfortunate incident, social media outrage started against him, accusing him of match-fixing. Abu Dhabi T10 league is a popular league in UAE, for entertainment and the fast-paced world as only 10 overs are played per side. 

Shanaka's no-balls didn't cost the team the match as they won it by seven wickets. He even came to bat in the No.3 position and scored 33 runs in 14 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes. Liam Livingstone was the standout player, hitting a half-century in just 15 balls. He hit three boundaries and five sixes to help Bangla Tigers win the game. 

It was an entertaining and thrilling game as the Tigers won the game in the last ball. The batters were just excellent as they chased 124 runs in 10 overs. Livingstone was given the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance. 

Dasun Shanaka last played for Sri Lanka in July 2024

Dasun Shanaka was an important member of the team and also captained the country for a while. However, due to Sri Lanka's consistent failures, he didn't get a chance to continue. He has played six Test matches and scored 140 runs at an average of 14.0. His highest score is 66 runs.

As a medium pacer, he has taken 13 wickets at an average of 33.15, with best bowling figures of 3/46. He was an explosive batter but couldn't maintain the consistency in scoring runs. Against India in July 2024, Dasun Shanaka played his last international game. He was
