3 Sri Lankan players who can threaten India in the upcoming T20I series

Fans eagerly await India's tour of Sri Lanka to watch new head coach Gautam Gambhir, ODI captain Rohit Sharma, and new T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav in action. Both teams' squads have been announced; now, they will be against each other to show what they are capable of. There are young players in both teams who will give their best in the series. 

Since the matches will be happening in Sri Lanka, it will be an added advantage for the Lankan Lions. They'll be able to dominate the Indians and try to win the series. A few players are really good and have played some amazing knocks in the T20 World Cup 2024. They are in good form and there's a high chance that the players might perform well in the upcoming series.

1. Matheesha Pathirana

Matheesha Pathirana, often known as 'Baby Malinga' is a renowned bowler for his unique action. He has been in solid form and will dismantle the Indian batting attack. His line and length are accurate throughout the match which is a big plus point for the Lankan Lions. If he succeeds in sending the top order back to the pavilion in the powerplay, then Sri Lanka will easily win the match. 

2. Charith Asalanka

The left-handed batter of Sri Lanka, Charith Asalanka is a dangerous batter when it comes to T20 cricket. He knows his game really well. He is a talented batter who knows how to pick up bowlers and go after them. Since he is a left-handed batter, it becomes difficult for bowlers to maintain their line and length. Hence, he's a great option for Sri Lanka and if he starts hitting boundaries, there's no way India will be able to win the matches. 

3. Wanindu Hasaranga

Sri Lanka's prime spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga is another bowler who has been consistent in taking wickets throughout his career. He gets important breakthroughs which comes in handy for the team. Now, the pressure will be on him to perform against India since he knows most of the players and has played against them in the IPL.
