The former New Zealand player Stephan Fleming who is currently the coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is the first choice of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to become the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Rahul Dravid's tenure has come to an end and the the Board is looking for experienced coaches who can handle the diversity of the team. 

Moreover, there are several reasons why Fleming can be a good coach for India, the first being his calm nature and solid mind. He can handle pressure and managing a strong Indian team requires a lot of perseverance as well. Hence, Fleming seems to be the right option for this position.

1. Experience in handling a team full of stars and youngsters

Being the coach of the Super Kings for more than a decade now, Stephan Fleming has a lot of experience in handling a team full of young and old players. He has been doing this for a while and has done it well. From playing for CSK to coaching the team, he has come a long way and knows everything about coaching now. Hence, he's one of the best options for the position of the coach. 

2. Been a skipper and a brilliant player during his time

Apart from coaching, Fleming has been a great player as well. He has played more than 100 Test and ODI matches and has done well for his team. As per stats, he has played 111 Test matches and scored 7172 runs at an average of 40.06. Moreover, in ODIs, he has played 280 matches and has scored 8037 runs at an average of 32.40. 

3. Most successful IPL coach

Under Fleming, CSK has won five titles which is the highest by any team after Mumbai Indians. This is enough to prove how good a coach he is and that he'll be able to manage the team pretty well. India's team has a lot of experienced players and most of them know Fleming well. Hence, the players will have a great rapport with him since he has experience and talent as well.
