Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has accumulated a lengthy record of controversial on-court events over his twelve NBA seasons. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that he thought the worst-case scenario was when he got into a fight with former player Jordan Poole at a practice in October 2022 in an interview with The Dan Le Batard Show on Tuesday. When things got out of hand, Green hit the guard in the face, and the team penalized the seasoned four-time winner.

Steve Kerr: "There's a lot of examples... For sure, the Jordan Poole incident... He crossed the line... and it made that season incredibly difficult for everybody."

Being one of the more well-known players in the NBA, the four-time All-Star has a reputation for engaging in questionable, if not simply dirty, on-court antics. The former Defensive Player of the Year stomped on Sacramento Kings All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis' chest in a playoff game in April 2023, earning himself a one-game ban. Draymond Green's history of getting into trouble continued after his altercation with Poole.
Draymond Green got suspended for his act
When the 2012 second-round draft selection grabbed Minnesota Timberwolves centre Rudy Gobert and placed him in a chokehold during an on-court fight in November of last year, he made headlines once again. He was suspended for five games. Meanwhile in December Draymond Green again received a suspension for indefinite time as he hit Jusuf Nurkic.
The Michigan State product missed four additional games in the lead-up to his return to action, and he missed twelve games overall before being reinstated. Green said in January that the commissioner persuaded him out of retirement during his time off the field after a "long, great conversation" with him.
