On Thursday, Diana Taurasi could have participated in her last game of the regular season with the Phoenix Mercury. Diana Taurasi, a former Phoenix Mercury, shared her feelings and thoughts about the 89-70 loss to the Seattle Storm, possibly being her final home game inside Footprint Center of her 20-year career, having loved ones and former teammates show up to support her, appreciating what Phoenix has done for her throughout her time in the Valley, not ruling out returning next season, and more on Thursday night.

It was a night when the game didn't matter as much as remembering a WNBA trailblazer. After the Mercury selected her with the first overall pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft, she went on to win three WNBA championships (2007, 2009, 2014), the 2009 WNBA MVP, eleven All-Stars, ten All-NBA First-Team selections, five WNBA scoring champions, and a long list of other honours during her career.

Watch here the video:

Taurasi has been an icon in the WNBA from the day she made her debut. She scored 17.0 points, pulled down 4.4 rebounds, and provided 3.9 assists a game in her first season. Over the past 20 years, she has been reliable in her art. Taurasi averages 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in his current role.

She will free agent after the end of the WNBA

After the WNBA playoffs in 2024 conclude, Taurasi will be a free agent, and at 42, retirement is a possibility that will likely happen sooner rather than later. Playoffs: The Mercury will play the Minnesota Lynx in the first round, with the first two games of a three-game series being played in Minnesota. Mercury Phoenix will have to go to the Valley for Game 3 if they win at least one.

The first two games of a three-game series between the Mercury and Minnesota Lynx will take place in Minnesota during the first round of the playoffs. Phoenix will force a third game in the Valley if they win at least one. The 42-year-old has stated that she has thought about retiring at the end of this season, but she has not yet made an official announcement.
