Brooklyn Netts will honor Vince Carter by retiring his No. 15 jersey to the rafters at Barclays Centre next season. The Netts made the video announcement on Wednesday, featuring former backcourt partner Jason Kidd, whose No. 5 jersey has been retired by the team.

Carter's No. 15 will become the seventh retired number in franchise history, following Drazen Petrovic, Jason Kidd, John Williamson, Bill Melchionni, Julius Erving, and Buck Williams. Bill Russell's No. 6 jersey has been retired around the league.

Carter averaged 23.6 points over his four and a half seasons with the Netts in New Jersey. He set their single-season scoring record with 2,070 points in 2006-07. Carter spent five seasons with New Jersey and missed just 11 games. Together with Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson, the three helped the Netts go to the second round of the playoffs twice.
