On Friday night Denver Nuggets bounce-back as they defeated Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 by 117-90. Anthony Edwards led Minnesota Wolves with 19 points, but they shot only 10 for 32 from deep, despite Karl-Anthony Towns' 4-for-5 effort. They failed to get enough looks for Towns (14 points), lost the ball too frequently in desperate tries to drive to the hoop, and just played slower than they had in the first two games in Denver, falling down by as many as 34 points down the stretch.

Meanwhile Denver Nuggetsare the 30th team in NBA postseason history to lose the opening two home games of a best-of-seven series. Five of them have rallied to win, the most recent being the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of 2021.

Jamal Murray, who scored only 25 points on 9-for-32 shooting with a minus-38 rating in the first two games and was fined $100,000 by the NBA for hurling a hot pack onto the floor from the bench, was booed every time he touched the basketball.

Minnesota Timberwolves are leading the series

The Wolves welcomed NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert back after missing Game 2 due to the birth of his baby, but the Nuggets moved the ball so proficiently outside of the paint that his long arms were mostly ineffective.

Though Minnesota Timberwolves are still leading the series, Sunday's Game 4 is significant for a squad that hasn't been to the Western Conference finals in two decades. If they return to Denver next week at 2-2, it will be anyone's series to win.
