Nika Muhl, a rookie guard for the Seattle Storm, played her first WNBA game on Wednesday night against the Indiana Fever. Due to visa-related issues, the second-round draft selection could not play in any of the team's first four games. However, she didn’t get much chance as Seattle Storm beat Indiana Fever 85-83.

For Indiana Fever, Clark averages 17 points, 5.5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Against two of the best WNBA teams to begin the season, Indiana has dropped two games to the New York Liberty and two to the Connecticut Sun. During her two seasons at UConn, Nika Muhl averaged 7.0 points on 43.8 per cent shooting and 7.2 assists a game in her regular starting role.

Muhl was a fierce defender for UConn who, in her junior year, won the Big East Defensive Player of the Year award. In addition, she was the program's all-time assist leader when she departed UConn (686). In her final season, she shot a career-best 40.2 per cent from three-point range and averaged 6.9 points and 6.5 assists. Coming off a Monday loss to the Liberty, the Storm are now 1-3. It is anticipated that Mühl would support Skylar Diggins-Smith, the starter (14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds).

Seattle welcomed back forward Nneka Ogwumike

Quinn feels more at ease starting Muhl for her debut on the floor on Wednesday against the Fever. In the national semifinals of the Final Four held last month, Muhl played defence of Clark for the UConn Huskies against the Iowa Hawkeyes in her final competitive game. Although Clark scored just 21 points on 7 of 18 shots, matching her lowest point total as a senior, Iowa defeated UConn 71-69 to go to the championship game before falling to South Carolina.

Along with Muhl's debut, Seattle welcomed back All-Star forward Nneka Ogwumike, who was sidelined for two games due to an ankle injury sustained last Friday against the Minnesota Lynx but is now back in the starting lineup.
