Their starting five is also the most powerful in the league, having the highest-rated offense and third-highest-rated defense this season. The Celtics are first in the league in scoring (121.0 points per game) and seventh in scoring defense. There are just a few weaknesses with this squad. As Boston Celtics are making it into playoffs if they want to go through playoff they should overcome these weaknesses:

5. Playmaking

The Celtics do not always have a genuine point guard. This season, their team assist rate ranks 22nd in the league. That might come back to get them if one of their stars is failing to get his shot and they don't have a fantastic playmaker to set up the other guys. When the defense tightens in the playoffs, the offense may get stagnate without a playmaker.

4. Kristaps Porzingis availability

Kristaps Porzingis's injury problems as caused a team lot. His health will be a concern, and the Boston Celtics will require his presence to realize their full potential. Porzingis has missed 22 games thus far this season. Among the Celtics' regular rotation, this player missed the most games.

3. Jaylen Brwon ball handling skills

Although it has improved significantly this season, Brown's lack of ball-handling abilities must still be addressed. When planning for many series matchups, teams will be able to scheme more defensively to compel Brown to use his weaker left hand and trap him in drives. The NBA world noticed the flaws in Brown's handling game last season, and it might be a thorn in his side again this postseason.

2. No support from other players in the end

It may not matter whether your starting five outperforms everyone else's. However, there is a significant drop-off in contributions from the Boston Celtics' major second-unit players. Given their limited rotation, they will need players like Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Luke Kornet to play significant postseason minutes. Those players might become defensive targets in a playoff series and be sent back to the bench fast, forcing the starters to play extended minutes.

1.      Reliable on Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum is one of the rising stars in the NBA. He has played six playoffs till now in his career. He has lost three conference finals and has guided the Boston Celtics to one NBA final. In the last two seasons his form has dropped in 2022 his average was 25.6 points per game in playoffs while in 2023, he scored 27.2 points per game in playoffs. If Tatum fails to perform at the end of games and the Boston Celtics rely on Tatum at a crucial time, they may be forced to leave sooner than intended.
