Anthony Edwards is playing like a passionate man, and his brilliance was on show against the Phoenix Suns in the first game of the playoff series when the Minnesota Wolves defeated them. Following the game, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins lauded the superstar and compared him to some of the greatest players in history due to his leadership abilities.

Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA champion lauded Anthony Edwards leadership in Game One during ESPN's NBA Countdown. He said that Edwards' performance was comparable to that of previous MVPs Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, with whom he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to PINKVILLA Kendrick Perkins stated, "I never played with a young great player like that. No disrespect to 'KD'. No disrespect to Russ or James Harden. That type of leader."

The Minnesota Timberwolves were led by their talisman Anthony Edwards, while the Suns appeared confused about the 'Ant-Man'. Edwards ended the game with 33 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals in 36 minutes of action. This season, Edwards is averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, contributing significantly to Minnesota's third-place Western Conference finish. The game was not one-sided until halftime, when Edwards exploded in the third quarter, and the Wolves appeared invincible for the remainder of the game.

Anthony Edwards must overcome many players to become one of the greatest players in NBA

Edwards was well supported throughout the game by fellow All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 19 points, and Rudy Gobert, who had 14 points and 16 rebounds. However, Nickeil Alexander-Walker amazed fans with his performance. The former Pelican scored 18 points off the bench.

But he will have to overcome players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and others to be named the greatest player in the league.
