On Friday night, even though Jalen Brunson scored his career-best 61 points for the New York Knicks, lost the game to San Antonio Spurs in overtime by 130-126. Victor Wembanyama of San Antonio Spur gave an outstanding performance as he scored his career-high 40 points, which included 20 rebounds and seven assists.

Brunson's incredible effort came just shy of Carmelo Anthony's club record of 62 points, which he established on January 24, 2014. During the overtime with just 5.4 seconds left in the game, Jalen Brunson missed an important 3-pointer that would have won them the game.

In this NBA season, Jalen Brunson got his fifth-highest point total. Wembanyama's impact went beyond scoring, as he clinched San Antonio's victory with a clutch 3-pointer in overtime, increasing their advantage to four points.

Victor Wembanyama becomes the second player to score 40 points and 20 rounds in a game

Wembanyama is the only player behind Shaquille O’Neal to score 40 points and 20 rounds in the game. He also scored his 39th double-double from 65 games. With just 4:39 minutes left New York Knicks were leading by 113-112. But Donte DiVincenzo scored a 3-pointer and changed the match. In the final minutes of the match, five ties were made due to which the game went into overtime.

DiVincenzo's efforts went beyond the clutch shot, as he finished the game with 20 points. Notably, his performance cemented his place in Knicks history, setting a new single-season record for 3-pointers with 245.

Jalen Brunson finished the game with 61 points, four rebounds, six assists, a steal, and a turnover on 25 of 47 shooting from the field (53.2%), including 5 of 13 from beyond the arc (38.5%), and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line. He also had a +20 net rating.

The Knicks season record fell to 44-29, maintaining them fourth in the Eastern Conference standings, just a half-game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.
