On Friday Indiana Pacers halted the Los Angeles Lakers' winning streak as they won the game 109-90 due to the solid performance of their defense. Indiana Pacers were led by Pascal Siakam who scored 22 points and 11 rebounds and got support from Tyres Haliburton who scored 21 points, eight rebounds and gave eight assists.
While T.J. McConnell also supported the show with 16 points and coming off the bench Aaron Nesmith added 12 points. This was a revenge match for the Indiana Pacers as they lost against the Los Angeles Lakers in their last match.
The Pacers' defence restricted the Lakers to a season-low 90 points and 40.7 per cent shooting from the floor. Indiana, on the other hand, was highly efficient on the attack, shooting 48.3 per cent. Indiana also meant to fix their setback to the Lakers in the final game of the in-season tournament in December, even though that game did not count in the regular-season rankings.
Indiana Pacers stayed calm and finished the game
Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers as he scored 24 points and 15 rebounds, while LeBron James had a double-double (16 points and 10 rebounds). However, D'Angelo Russell was limited to only six points as the Lakers' key scoring three played together for the first time in four games.
In the fourth quarter, the Lakers attempted to rally but the Pacers stayed calm and finished the game with a strong 12-0 run. They jumped out to a dominating 104-85 lead during this run, which ended with an Andrew Nembhard steal that allowed Siakam to dunk on a fast break.
However, the Indiana Pacers had a balanced defensive and attacking side to help them win over the Los Angeles Lakers. These wins also bring an end to the LA Laker's remarkable victory run and achieving a significant milestone in their season.
