The rookie guard won the title of WNBA Rookie of the Month for the month of May. Clark averaged 17.6 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game in her first month of competition. Along with Natalie Achonwa (June 2015) and Aliyah Boston (May, June, August 2023) as the WNBA Rookie of the Month, the 6-foot guard is one of two Indiana Fever players to have received this honour.

Caitlin Clark topped all rookies in the first month of the season in the following categories: assists (6.6 apg), minutes played (33.0 mpg), field goals made (46), 3-point field goals made (24), free throws made (42), and scoring (17.6 points per game).

Clark also equaled WNBA great Diana Taurasi for the league's most 3-pointers made in May, with 24. Clark became the third player in WNBA history to reach 100 points, 30 rebounds, and 30 assists in her first six games, joining former star Candace Parker and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu.

Clark reached double figures in seven of the Fever's nine games in May, including five games with 20 or more points. This was highlighted by her career-high 30 points against the Los Angeles Sparks on May 28. Clark also recorded five or more assists in eight of Indiana Fever's nine May games.

I certainly know there’s pressure there - Caitlin Clark

As per Yahoo Sports, “I certainly know there’s pressure there. That’s been like my entire career,” Clark said. “I just have fun playing basketball. I know this is a team sport. It’s not all about me…I’m a perfectionist but I’m at my best when I allow myself to have a little grace and not expect everything to go exactly how it should, but at the same time that’s what allowed me to be so great.”

During the season's first month, five separate TV networks established records for the most-watched WNBA games involving Clark and the Fever. Clark and the Fever return to action on Friday, Jun 7. CT against the Washington Mystics on ION.
